Time Out
Beacon Hill Time Out Club is an inclusive before and after school provision for children who attend schools in the North Tyneside area. We provide child care in term time only. “Time Out Club”provides a safe and secure environment which is staffed with professional care workers. This club is also a great opportunity for your children to mix with other children from different schools and different age groups. The club is based in Beacon Hill School which is a brand new special school,we moved there in January 2008. The school has all the facilities needed to give the children who attend the club the best possible individual care should they need it,e.g. hoists, specialist rooms (light and sound rooms),wheelchair access etc.

Daily Routine
Beacon Hill Time Out Club offers a wide range of stimulating activities which are child-driven and supervised by adults at all times. When the children come in to the club they have some free choice time and can participate in some of the more calming and quiet activies,e.g. drawing, playing board games, jigsaws, colouring in etc. At around 4.00pm they can have fruit and drink or a healthy meal. After tea they can have messy activities e.g. painting, play dough, gluing and sticking. If the weather is fine the children can play outside,if it is raining they can play in the sports hall. They can also watch TV or video/DVD. The children have access to soft play, light and sound room and also the sensory room. Some children have their own timetables and routines and may be supported individually. We feel that it is very important that we provide and cater for each individual child’s needs. Beacon Hill Time Out Club is commited to providing high quality play for every child,in a happy welcoming environment.

Collection of Children
The safety of the children is paramount, and so when you collect your child they will only be allowed to leave with a parent/carer who is named on the registration form, unless the club has written permission and password from the parent/carer. All children will be signed in byt the member of staff who brings them to the club and all children must be signed out by the parent/carer collecting them. The club sessions finish at 5.45pm and children must be collected promptly at or before this time. In case of late collection,we have a procedure designed to provide all members of staff and parents/carers with a clear course of action. We charge a late collection fee of £25.00 to cover extra staff payment.
Safety
When you come in to the club to pick up your child the door will be locked behind you,and when you leave please ensure that a member of staff knows to lock it again. If another child’s parent/carer is outside please ensure they do not run out to greet them. A member of staff must be aware that the child has left the building.
Booking,Cancellation and Payment
We can cater for 24 children per session. It is important that each child is registered and if possible please book your child’s place at least 1 week in advance. Payment for sessions should be made weekly by cheque payable to ‘Beacon Hill School’.
Please ensure you let the club know if your child is going to be absent. If you do not give 24 hours notice then you will still be charged for the place. If we need to verify the whereabouts of children we shall contact the emergency number on the registration form. If we cannot confirm the child is safe then we must contact the police and inform them of missing children.
